Canon 5D Mark IV

I took a few shots with the brand new Canon 5D Mark IV, the detail in the photos is very good compared to the Nikon D5100 but the color rendering is very similar.

I went bare bottom!

I finally finished going bare bottom, it took about ten 30 gallon water changes but I finally managed to remove all of the sand from my display tank. The colors have been getting better each week as well, I believe the detritus that floats around the tank due to the extra flow is helping to feed my corals.

80 Gallon Rimless

I recently upgraded my 40 gallon frag tank to an 80 gallon rimless a month ago, here are a few pictures.

Majority of the corals have paled out due to the nitrates reading at 0.2 mg/L (Salifert) and phosphates at 0.02 ppm (Hanna Checker). As a result, I started dosing KZ Amino Acid's and Sodium Nitrate to help dirty up the tank. I would normally clean the glass of green slime algae every other day and with vodka dosing I clean the glass once a week.

Weekend Update

I am starting to see green hair algae grow on the live rock so I started dosing AZ NO3 again as that killed off the algae growth with my previous algae issue. I also added more Chaetomorpha algae to the sump. Nitrates test at 0.2 mg/L (Salifert) and phosphates are 0.02 ppm (Hanna Checker).

40 Gallon Update

Everything is going great in my 40 gallon breeder. I just added a Jebao dosing pump to keep up with the alkalinity and calcium demands of the corals. Still no protein skimmer, just a 30 gallon sump full of live rock and chaeto lit by two PAR 38 flood lights!
