I recently tested my potassium and magnesium and both were well under natural seawater values. I have since corrected the levels this month and the polyp extension has exploded!

New ATI Instant Ocean Test Results

I submitted a new ICP test and recalibrated my refractometer with new solution from Brightwell. ATI is saying my salinity is 33ppt versus 35 ppt. What is frustrating is the new results with higher salinity show lower values of sodium, sulfur and potassium. I did let this new batch mix longer than my previous test which could be why the alkalinity dropped but it still makes me question the validity of their test results.

I also noticed my RO mixing tub is a source of silicon as my previous test results were taken from freshly made water from the RO/DI unit.

Instant Ocean Sea Salt

I submitted an ICP test for a 30 gallon mix of Instant Ocean sea salt. From the results Instant Ocean is low in Calcium, Potassium, Barium, Iodine, Molybdenum, and Manganese but is high in Tin.

ATI ICP Test (September 2017)

After performing 55 gallons worth of water changes between August 21st and September 26th, below are my ICP values. I did add Seachem Cuprisorb three days prior to sending out the sample. As you can see, the Tin, Iron, Zinc and Aluminum values dropped. Possibly from the Cuprisorb or from performing five small water changes. The silicon values dropped as well after replacing my RO & DI filters, the previous test showed my make up water was 202.3 ug/L and after replacing the filters it dropped to 12.86 ug/L.

In contrast, the chemistry values on the 160 gallon are not ideal yet the colors and growth are not suffering like the 120 gallon. Maybe the corals are missing more feeding as the chaetomorpha algae grows faster in the 160 than in the 120.
